Qianball (pronounced Chinball) is a relatively new kind of sport, which was founded in China in 1998, and expanded to Denmark in 2004. The sport has some elements from both Badminton, Squash and Tennis, which makes the sport something that everyboby can enjoy. Badminton-people like the strategic play with small shots close to the net. Squash-people like the hard-hitting, fast play. Often Tennisplayers has used Qianball as a substitute for Tennis, in the winter season, where they aren't ablee to play Tennis outside. Below we've tried to list the different elements and the relations.

Squash:

  • Both or all of the players are on the same side of the net.

  • In relation to the above, many of the rules in Squash are carried over to Qianball ie. obstruction.

Tennis:

  • The net is placed close to the ground.

  • The hard-hitting play, where you use the intire body to carry out the hit.

Badminton:

  • The court design (Although in Qianball you only use the one half).

  • The strategic play with small shots close to the net.
